Transitioning a business to new owners, whether family members, employees or someone totally new, often requires money. There are options other than traditional bank financing and this session will explore: • An ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Program) • SBIC Funds (Small Business Investment Corp); SBICs are are privately owned investment companies licensed by the US Small Business Administration that supply small businesses with both the equity and debt financing. • Creative thinking – a local business owner will discuss how they financed selling the business to his employees using some creative methods. Followed by Cocktail Hour and Hors D'oeuvres
