Accounting Requirements for Federal Contractors
Many federal contract awards are contingent upon finding that a contractor’s accounting system is sound. This includes having specific written ac-counting policies and an accounting system that can perform certain cost, time-keeping, and billing functions. Agencies conduct unique “financial health” audits prior to awarding some contracts. This program is designed to assist business people in establishing an accounting system that will be found acceptable by the federal government.
