DELAWARE Small Business Development Center ANNOUNCES SELECTION OF GARY SIMON AS STATE STAR
Delaware Small Business Development Center Network Director Clinton Tymes announced that Gary Simon has been selected as the 2009 State Star of the Delaware SBDC.
“I am pleased to make this announcement, and to recognize Gary Simon for extraordinary contributions to the work of the Delaware SBDC and small business in Delaware,” said Tymes.
Gary Simon is a Business Advisor at the University of Delaware Small Business Development Center serving New Castle County. Mr. Simon also serves as the network’s lead technology counselor, and has been instrumental in expanding the DSBDC’s services in the technology commercialization area. A new SBIR/STTR assistance program, work with UD faculty on options for bringing innovations to the marketplace and upcoming programs on attracting investors are among the achievements that led to this award. “Gary’s work has also helped the DSBDC and the Office of Economic Innovation and Partnerships (OEIP) expand the services that OEIP offers to faculty who have developed new technologies,” says David Weir, Director of the OEIP at the University.
